BTS of a recent horror short film I worked on; Scopophobia.

For this short film, I chose to expand my skills by taking on the roles of Costume Designer and SFX Makeup Artist instead of directing. Designing costumes that felt realistic and seamlessly blended with the world we created was both exciting and rewarding. I also got to apply special effects makeup, including gash wounds and fake blood, and cutting costumes to mimic claw marks from the monster, allowing me to explore my creativity in new ways. Contributing to the film’s overall look and feel made me realise just how much I love being part of the filmmaking process.

I directed a documentary exploring the challenges women face regarding societal expectations and femininity. For the film, I interviewed both a conventionally feminine woman and a non-binary persons to juxtapose their experiences. My second student film I worked on at Macquarie University. I wanted to try something other than directing and editing, so I did production designer. It was really fun, however I came to the conclusion that my passion is definitely directing.
